Outlook is Email client which is widely used in offices for communicating through Email. Outlook uses PST file to store its components such as Emails, Contacts, Tasks, Appointments, Notes and Calendar.  As Outlook stores contacts, users sometimes never store or forget to store contacts at other locations. Due to its complex structure there are chances of PST file to get corrupted. When PST file gets corrupted users do not get access to items stored in the Outlook and it throws up an error message “Outlook.pst could not open”. In such cases user might be wondering as how to recover contacts from Outlook.

There are many reasons behind corruption of PST file of Outlook. Some of the reasons may be – corruption of PST file due to virus attack, improper termination of MS Outlook, shutting down the system when Outlook functioning, file header corruption etc.
